Voivoda calls on Santos fans to fight against relegation

Santos is facing a difficult phase in the final stages of the Brazilian Championship Series A and is looking for strength to fight against the relegation zone. After the 3-2 loss to Flamengo in the Maracanã, coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda pointed to Santos’ fans as one of the main factors behind the good result.

– At the end of the game they will judge whether we played well or not, but during the game these Villa fans want us to go forward. When I was a customer, I felt like a fan and said, “The villa is complicated.” After that, fans have the right to evaluate how their team responded. We are at a time where we have to come together, the players need the fans and I need the fans. They are a helpful fan base because they know the difficult times we are going through. That is what I can say about the fans and I will demand maximum dedication from the players, to not give up and keep fighting, he stressed.

Despite the defeat, the coach emphasized the team’s reaction against Flamengo and the two goals they scored in the final minutes, which narrowed the score to 3-0, and called for will power from his team so that the next match would be considered a battle.

– This is what we want from our players: commitment. You have to go and fight, that’s what it is. That’s what I want and demand from my players. As the players are suffering and as the fans are suffering, today I am suffering, I am suffering, but Santos will not give up, he will continue to fight, he added.
