After Flamengo’s 3-2 victory over Santos this Sunday (11/9), defender Leo Pereira questioned the call-up of Carlo Ancelotti, who was once again left out of the Brazilian squad.
“It’s the best moment of my career. Physically, tactically and mentally. I’m doing very well. I’m doing my job, what I can do for my teammates and what Filipe wants. I respect the players’ choices. I think there are only A-level players. However, there are doubts about the lack of that opportunity. All the defenders who passed through here had (a chance).. Fabricio (Bruno), Leo (Ortiz). Danilo was called up earlier and was there,” said Pereira.
“Anyway, I’ll keep working. I created expectations, yes, I won’t liebut that’s something you can’t control. What I can control is to do my best every day and in the game, and one day I will get there,” added the 29-year-old defender, who scored the opening goal of the match.
