“Guys, I’m here unlacing my shoes and I’m shocked. Then I counted them. I have over 60 shoelaces,” she said. According to Maya, most of the pieces were created by lace stylist Carlos Cirqueira, artistically known as Carlos Lace, one of Brazil’s leading experts in this sector and a long-time partner of the presenter.

Carlos was responsible for some of Maya’s iconic looks and together they developed exclusive models that have become part of the fashion producer’s identity. “Carlos gave me a discount there (most of my shoelaces are Carlos’s). He gave me a discount on some shoes. We played some and I paid for others…” he elaborated.

Maya estimated how much she would pay if she bought all the pieces at list price. “So let’s assume that I paid. I don’t know, but each price is 20,000 reais, some higher, some lower. Carlos has races up to 100,000 reais, and here we have races for more than 1 million reais. If I had paid, right? I haven’t paid in cash. This is very clear,” he added.
