Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro, is Netflix’s latest hit. The characterization of the actor playing the monster of the Gothic classic quickly spread on the networks, causing surprise with the extent of its details.
The film tells the story of a genius but selfish scientist who brings a monster to life in a daring experiment that ultimately leads to the destruction of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Jacob Elordi is responsible for playing the monster in the movie. The ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The Kissing Booth’ star looks unrecognizable as he plays the role of Frankenstein with special prosthetics and make-up.

Characters played by Jacob Elordi
The production required physical and mental effort from the actor, known for his roles in Euphoria and The Rose of Bajo. The changes were so great that Elordi claims to have “reinvented” himself after bringing the character to life.
“I was desperate to find normalcy and reinvent my approach to acting and film, and when this movie arrived, I remember thinking, ‘Oh, how I wanted to quit!’ I knew right away that ‘Creature’ was where I was meant to go. I was supposed to put on this mask of freedom,” the actor told the Los Angeles Times.
Jacob Elordi added, “I didn’t need to be this version of myself anymore. Over the last six months, I completely reinvented myself. And I came out of this movie with a completely new skin.”
In addition to Elordi, the cast includes Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, Christoph Waltz, and more. The film was released for streaming on November 7th after being released for a while.
