While speaking at the event, Jorginho called the congressman to center stage and said: “A woman who is smart, who is a writer, who makes the Santa Catarina State Legislature proud of what she represents, a writer, I love listening to her. She is educated, she knows how to say things, and I want her to be our state representative. I am very proud of her. She is the most voted state representative in Santa Catarina and I have no doubt that she will be on the floor again, thank you, Ana. ”
The praise came amid a dispute involving a member of Congress and the children of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The confusion escalated after Campagnolo said that the state’s two PL seats in the Senate had already been promised to Deputy Caroline De Toni (PL-SC) and Senator Esperidian Amin (PP-SC). After making this comment, she was called a liar by Bolsonaro supporters.
City Councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) recently said that he decided to run for the seat of Casa Alta with the support of his father. Mr. Bolsonaro has a strong and solid base in the state, which is why Mr. Carlos’s election is considered a foregone conclusion. But the deputy said he would not support a name that is not derived from the state.
In response to the controversy, Federal Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro released a video saying that all party members must support his brother.
“The important thing is that if you are in Bolsonaro’s party, elected with Bolsonaro’s support, it doesn’t matter how big or small you are, there is a hierarchy to follow. Bolsonaro speaks and you have to follow it. Don’t you like that? You can go to another party,” the deputy declared.
