Vox accuses PSOE of removing word ‘corruption’ from good governance rules to hide political realities
The VOX parliamentary group of the Cortés region of Castilla-La Mancha has condemned the removal of the term “corruption” from the new “Regulations on Good Government and Transparency” promoted by Executive Director Emiliano García-Page, considering it an attempt by the PSOE to hide the reality and soften references to reprehensible political practices.
VOX regional deputy Luis Blasquez criticized the move, which he described as a ploy to “invent words and silence criticism”, noting that the socialist government “prefers to delete offensive words rather than take responsibility”. As he stated, the amendments are aimed at “preventing the public from pointing out cases of corruption that affect political parties.”
Speaking to Vox, they claim that the crackdown represents a “backslide in terms of transparency and public ethics” by removing “key standards to ensure accountability and control of political power” from the regulatory framework.
The parliamentary group reiterated its commitment to transparency in the system and called for local governments to take responsibility for their management and take real steps to prevent fraud.
Vox believes that “transparency is not achieved through the exclusion of conditions, but through accountability,” and warned that it will continue to condemn any attempts to hide or distort the political reality in Castilla-La Mancha.
The group argues that a truly open government must “call a spade a spade,” include the fight against corruption in its standards of good governance, and be transparent with the public.
